In elementary school, I was the kid whose jumping made the trampoline go down the farthest.
Trust me: You do not want to be that kid.

An alphabet. A bunting. A blog. And some utter randomness.

True, but you also don't want to be the kid they don't even allow onto the trampoline in the first place....
Or the person who, while being weighed as part of the Air Fiji check-in ritual, is told they have to wait until the next flight because they're overweight.
I can see we're all of a piece: I was the kid who was always picked last with the overwight kid and the kid who was hit by a bus and can't walk properly, sheerly because I was a refusenik physically
T is for terra firma. It's best to keep one's feet on the ground.
Oh this is great!!!
Helen, I've done the Air Fiji thing and was mortified when the "weigher" calls out the "weighee's" weight across the entire waiting room/shed!
Or should it be "weighting" room?
I dunno. I was the kid who always begged to be double-bounced and inevitably wound up in a heap of my own tangled and marled limbs on the ground. Good decision-making has never been one of my personal strengths.
This made me laugh. :)
Thanks for your comments, too. I'm envious you're in VT-- I was in Burlington for a year and loved it.
SY: True, but I don't think that happened to you. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've seen photos from your childhood.
H: What? What? And Mali: What?
Mrs. S: I totally respect the refusenik stuff. And where the hell have you gone? Your blogs are GONE. Please don't pull a Deloney.
Deloney: No offense. And I like your terra firma comment.
Kat: See Deloney's comment. Terra firma. (And even your comments are fabulously written. But I have to say, I didn't have you pegged for a nonskinnydipper. Good to keep us guessing.)
Sweats: Burlington is a great town (I'm a couple of hours south). But so is San Francisco. I've only been there once, but it was great.
I once knew a girl whose nickname was Trampoline.
SY: Is that so?
